Men’s Ministry – WORD

This group is for men and their sons looking to go deeper in God’s word and develop relationships with other like-minded men in the church. My intention for this group is to develop disciples with a heart for being doers of the Word rather than just hearers.

This idea comes from James 1:22-25 and serves as the mission statement of this redesigned men’s ministry. We will be focusing on building a firm foundation in God’s word with the intention of refining disciples and evangelizing the lost. We will also cover a wide variety of men focused topics such as lust, love, relationships, anger, selfishness, pride, guilt and shame, grace, parenting, prayer, treating our spouses in a Godly manner, service, money, and much more.

I hope you and your sons, if you have them, will consider joining us on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM at AC².

We’ve covered a dozen study books over the years as a group of men seeking God. From John Eldridge to numerous books on the bible and even some RC Sproul. We explore the historical, geographical, cultural, and overarching theological and “hermeneutical” aspects of God’s word and character. We seek his face through passionate conversation and connection with one another.

Raquel’s Life Group

We are a “life group: because we intend to do life together!

This life group intends to imitate the life of Christ by embodying his practice of breaking bread with one another. The goal is to meet every other Sunday, directly after church; we will gather at a restaurant of our collective choosing and unpack the sermon while sharing other aspects of our lives. We will coordinate eatery locations via text, and I welcome and encourage your input! If you wish to join the group chat, please text “breaking bread” to 907-903-6871.

I’m excited to share a meal with you and genuinely connect! The hope is that this group gathers and grows organically, and its leadership style is “for-us-by-us.”

Come when you can, stay for the vibes, and know that every Sunday you have a space at the table.

*Feel free and invite someone or even join if you missed service! We’re happy to eat with you*

About Raquel

Raquel is a Hispanic-Alaskan feeler and thinker interested in poetry, wellness, and embodied spirituality. As a poet, she advocates for deep connections and is invested in others’ narratives. As a practitioner of The Way, she is passionate about lived-theology, contemplative practices, and expressing the same love of Christ that she has so graciously received. She started this group with the hope of cultivating connection and holistic community. Her desire is that we connect consistently over the warmth of shared meals as we witness in the life and ministry of Christ.
